KATHY LIBONATI Member since 2007Current drill horse: Maverick I have been riding horses since I was 4 years old. My first horse (actually a pony) my father bought from the SPCA before they could take it to the glue factory the next morning. We did not even have a trailer yet so my father walked her 4 miles in the rain to his friends house where they had a single horse wooden trailer. He pulled into the driveway of our home and I saw this weird contraption behind his truck. Then out came "Trixy". I ran out of the house and when I got to the pony my father threw me up on her back and I've been riding ever since. For the first 24 years of my riding life I showed halter, western pleasure, stock seat equation and a gymkhana here and there for fun. I trained my first horse for money at the age of 14. When I moved to Arizona in 1995 I spent the first few years trail riding. Then one day in the paper I saw an ad for the Scottsdale Saddle Club Gymkhana and I've been riding with SSC ever since 2001. I've been on the board for the past 3 years and decided to join the SSC Drill Team with Maverick. He's a 7 year old registered paint that has not been in a parade to date, but that's about to change on February 24, 2007 when we do our first parade together at the Parada Del Sol.
